FRANCINE KOHN is a professional art educator whose work is designed to provide meaningful, experiential and creative integrated art experiences to participants. Her art offerings invite the individual to explore and to express the wonderful world of art, music and movement, while having fun! A special time for individuals to learn and work individually and collaboratively, students will unleash their imagination and creativity and learn new skills to create their own art. Francine brings over fifteen years experience in visual arts, classical & Hindustani music, expressive dance & healing arts to this exciting work.
Making art is different than playing a musical instrument. People are willing to sound bad when they learn to play the violin, but with art if it doesn't look like a masterpiece, they decide to never make art again. I have set up bridges where the individual can freely express themselves and while the technical parts are structured to ensure the finished piece looks good. In stages the bridges are removed as confidence is gained and the student soars! You'll see in the sample projects below that the ready-made shapes does not hinder the student. Those who want to cut the shapes and make them their own are free to do so, while those who need a little more structure to gain their footing have that too!
